Danielle Green went home motivated not only to heal herself but also to inspire others. She continued higher education, receiving a master’s degree in counseling, and has dedicated her life to assisting other veterans in navigating their own challenges, from physical ailments to the invisible wounds of war. Her work with the Department of Veterans Affairs and numerous veterans’ organizations has garnered widespread acclaim.

“I may have lost an arm in Iraq,” she explained, “but I earned a much greater purpose. I serve not for recognition, but because so many people still require our assistance. This award honors every veteran who fights battles that no one sees.”
