đź”´âš« FOUR-STAR FRENZY IN ATHENS: Georgia Bulldogs Secure Another Backfield Gem as Elite RB Amari Thomas Commits Over Florida State

A Thunderbolt to the ACC, a Power Surge to the SEC, and a Clear Signal That Kirby Smart’s Recruiting Empire Is Just Getting Started…

Athens, GA — June 29, 2025

Just when you thought Kirby Smart couldn’t elevate the Georgia Bulldogs’ recruiting machine any higher, he’s gone and done it again.

In a dramatic commitment ceremony streamed live on ESPN Recruiting Nation, four-star running back Amari Thomas, one of the most explosive backs in the 2025 class, announced his decision to play for the University of Georgia, sending shockwaves across the national recruiting landscape. His highly anticipated decision came down to a tense battle between Georgia and Florida State, with powerhouse programs like Alabama, Oregon, and Texas also vying late in the game.

Wearing a white suit and crimson tie, Thomas pulled out a red Georgia Bulldogs cap from under the table — and the room erupted.

> “I prayed on it, I sat with my family, and I followed my heart,” Thomas said, his voice filled with emotion. “Georgia is home now. Between the coaching, the culture, and the fans, it just felt different. I want to be part of something legendary.”

This marks yet another major recruiting win for Kirby Smart, who has now landed five top-100 recruits in the month of June alone, further solidifying Georgia’s stranglehold on the No. 1 spot in the 2025 recruiting class rankings.

A Thunderbolt to the ACC — and a Missed Crown Jewel for Florida State

Thomas’ commitment is especially painful for Florida State, who had been considered the frontrunner as recently as last week. The Seminoles invested heavily in his recruitment, with head coach Mike Norvell making multiple in-home visits and reportedly presenting a competitive NIL package in the final 72 hours before decision day.
