An Epochal Open Letter from Keith Richards.
To my brothers in the Rolling Stones, our dedicated fans, and the entire Keith Richards community,
There are times in life when words fail to express the depth of thankfulness a man feels in his soul. Today, I’m at one of those moments, thinking on a decades-long journey full of music, rebellion, tenacity, and, most importantly, love. This letter is my attempt to express how deeply I appreciate each and every one of you.
Thank you to Mick, Ronnie, my late brother Charlie, and every musician who has ever performed with us. We’ve been on this journey together for years, pushing boundaries, redefining rock ‘n’ roll, and demonstrating that music is more than just sound—it’s life itself. The Rolling Stones were never just a band; they were and still a force, a family, and a heartbeat that resonates throughout generations.
Thank you to our fans, who have been the lifeblood of this wild experience, for sticking with us through every riff, show, high and low. From the smokey bars of the early days to the booming stadiums that rocked beneath your feet, your enthusiasm has served as our fuel. You’ve celebrated with us, supported us through the storms, and incorporated the Rolling Stones into your own narrative. That is a blessing I will not take for granted.
Thank you to the entire Keith Richards community—those who have found anything in my music, thoughts, or way of life that speaks to them. Your love and support have enabled me to continue doing what I was born to do: creating music while raising a little hell along the way. You accepted my flaws, grit, and fire, reminding me every day why I picked up the guitar in the first place.
This trip is not over. As long as my fingers can strum a chord and my heart beats in sync with the music, I’ll be here—playing, composing, and rocking out. And I’ll do it with the same passion and love that you’ve all shown me.
