The 2025 season will see significant changes to Ole Miss’ offensive, defensive, and special teams sides of the football, as well as a slightly different schedule, according to information released on Wednesday night.
More specifically, the format has changed, as the Rebels will not have four “cupcakes” to begin the season, which was a talking point when Kentucky defeated Ole Miss in Oxford in 2024.
What strikes out immediately are the eight home games and the SEC opener earlier this year. Getting a taste of SEC action early could help Ole Miss prepare for the rest of the season, and the Rebels do not leave Mississippi during the month of November.
Ole Miss will also face Georgia for the third time in as many years, as its conference opponents in 2024 remain the same, with the host stadium changing for following season.
The Rebels still have a bowl game and an offseason before their Week 1 home game, and they will use the transfer portal to target some critical areas between now and then.
