Cody Jinks’s Epochal Open Letter to Fans and the Entertainment Community
To my dear fans, friends, and the entertainment community,
As I sit down to write this letter, I am filled with gratitude, thought, and a strong sense of obligation to say “thank you.” It’s been a long journey—from the early days of playing dive bars and honky-tonks to the stages where thousands of you sing back every word I’ve written straight from the heart. One truth has stayed constant throughout the song: I wouldn’t be here without you.
To my admirers, you are the driving force behind my path. You’ve shown up when the lights were dim, when the industry wasn’t sure where to put a hard-edged, independent voice like mine. Not only have you supported the music, but also the man who created it. Your support, applause, letters, and tales you’ve shared with me after shows are what keep me grounded and give my words meaning. You believed in grit and honesty when others just saw the dangers.
Thank you to the entertainment community—from my fellow musicians in the trenches to the independent labels, promoters, venue owners, and radio hosts who gave me a chance—for creating a space where honesty is still valued. Thank you for welcoming an outsider, a Texas guy with no script, only stories to tell and a guitar to tell them on. You allowed me to be honest to myself, and in doing so, you helped me discover my voice.
Every album, every event, every mile on the road has taught us about endurance, faith, and the power of connection. The music industry can be a harsh, unforgiving environment, but it is also full with lovely people who are passionate about art and truth. To everyone who has ever turned up my song in their truck, poured a drink and cried to one of my songs, or found solace in the cacophony, I see you, hear you, and carry your memories with me.
This journey was never about celebrity. It’s always been about telling stories, being honest, and representing those who don’t always have a voice. You have made that possible. You’ve fostered an environment in which I’ve matured not only as an artist, but also as a man, spouse, parent, and friend.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me to be part of your life. As long as I have breath in my lungs and strings in my guitar, I will continue to create, sing, and stand up for what is true.
