As I reflect on this remarkable journey, I am filled with gratitude, pride, and emotion. Today, I write not only as a coach, but also as a woman who has been welcomed, inspired, and empowered by one of sports’ most passionate and unique groups. I sincerely thank you.
When I first arrived in Baton Rouge, I knew we were embarking on a new chapter, but I never expected the outpouring of love, support, and belief that I would receive from this university, our fans, and the great state of Louisiana. You greeted me warmly—not just as a coach, but as one of your own. That kind of acceptance not only makes a job easier, but it also gives it meaning.
You, my former and present players, are the program’s heartbeat. Seeing you develop as athletes, students, and ladies has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. The fortitude you’ve demonstrated on the court, the discipline in the classroom, and the way you carry yourselves as LSU ambassadors make me prouder than words can convey. You have made my job both enjoyable and fulfilling.
To the fans—the best fans in college basketball—your passion has buoyed us in ways you may never fully realize. From filled venues to wild watch parties around the nation, your passion is the pulse of this program. You’ve supported us through successes and struggles, and you’ve transformed the Pete Maravich Assembly Center into one of the most thrilling arenas in the country. Your songs, signs, and steadfast support have meant everything to me and the team.
To the larger LSU community—alumni, students, faculty, and Louisiana residents—you have shown me what it means to be a part of something bigger than basketball. You’ve reminded me that this path is about more than just victories and championships; it’s about culture, tradition, and love. This place has a unique sense of family.
As we continue our pursuit of perfection, know that I take your love and support with me in every practice, every timeout, and every minute we go onto that court. Thank you for allowing me to pursue my passion in a setting that seems like home.
