Dear Chicago Sky family,
As I reflect on my time in the WNBA, I am filled with emotion and gratitude. Today, I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful organization, the committed fans, and the lively city of Chicago for instilling so much love, belief, and energy in me as I continue to improve both on and off the court.
The Chicago Sky took a bet on me from the start, not only as an athlete, but as a woman with goals, passion, and a desire to make a difference. You accepted all of me: the competitor, the personality, the passion, and the purpose. And in doing so, you allowed me the opportunity to shine, stumble, learn, and grow into the woman I am today.
Thank you to the entire Sky group for establishing an environment that values authenticity and excellence. My coaches, training staff, front office, and teammates have all provided unwavering support for my development. You didn’t just teach me how to be a great player; you also showed me how to lead, listen, and handle the weight of expectation with grace and grit. That development is something I will keep with me indefinitely.
To my teammates, past and present, you are my sisters. You pushed me to be better every day, whether through strong rivalry at practice or profound chats on bus journeys. The ties we have formed will endure a lifetime. Sharing this journey with you has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work.
Thank you to the fans, especially the great Chicago Sky fans. You turned up every game with relentless energy, even in the most difficult moments. You’ve celebrated my accomplishments, encouraged me during my lows, and supported me as more than simply a player – as a person. Your support through placards, shouts, DMs, and love has served as fuel. They’ve reminded me that this game is about connection, legacy, and influence, not just stats or wins.
Chicago, you have become a part of me. From the South Loop to the United Center, from community events to media days, you’ve welcomed me with open arms and allowed me to be completely myself. You’ve helped me magnify my voice and reminded me that strength, femininity, and power can coexist — and should be cherished.
Whatever the future holds, I want you to know that I will be always grateful for the role the Sky has played in shaping me. This location, franchise, and family have left an indelible impression on my soul. Whether I’m wearing blue and yellow or applauding from afar, know that my heart beats with love for Chicago.
