Boston, Massachusetts — Bill O’Brien, head coach of the Boston College Eagles, has made a forceful statement off the field by donating a major amount of his recent bonus to efforts targeted at boosting both the Boston College community and the greater Boston area. In an emotional joint presentation with Boston College star Doug Flutie, O’Brien said that he will donate $2 million to the Eagles Revamp Project and an extra $750,000 to promote youth education and housing projects in Greater Boston.

The news has reverberated across the Boston College campus and the city, with fans, students, alumni, and community leaders hailing O’Brien for going above and beyond his obligations as head coach.

“Coaching is about more than wins and losses,” O’Brien stated during a press conference at Alumni Stadium. “It’s about leadership, community, and investing in others.
