To the Wildcat Family,
I feel a great deal of thanks and appreciation as I sit down to compose this letter. I have had the incredible privilege of being your head football coach for the past few years, a position that has allowed me to grow professionally and find unfathomable personal fulfillment. I want to express my gratitude today to all of the Kansas State community members who have contributed to this journey’s significance, including the players, supporters, staff, and others.
I was greeted with wide arms when I initially got to Manhattan. It was evident from the first day that Kansas State is a family, a tradition, and a way of life in addition to being a football program. You accepted me as one of your own and did more than simply help me as a coach. I don’t take that kind of warmth for granted because it’s not common.
We have created something unique together. We have fought through difficult defeats, celebrated significant victories, and most importantly, fostered a culture based on fortitude, morality, and solidarity. Without your faith and steadfast support in myself, our staff, and most importantly, our players, none of that would have been possible. You have created an atmosphere where young men may develop, where passion drives purpose, and where leadership can thrive.
We are grateful to our amazing supporters, who are the greatest in the country, for filling Bill Snyder Family Stadium each Saturday with unparalleled passion and fervor. Our program has been powered by your voice. You showed up in the rain, the snow, or the sun. You remained faithful. You turned Manhattan into one of the nation’s most vibrant and esteemed college football communities.
We appreciate the dedication and tenacity of our student-athletes, both current and former. The biggest honor of my career has been coaching you. Not only on the field but also in the classroom, the community, and daily life, you have exemplified what it means to proudly wear the Powercat. Your heart and tenacity have motivated me every day.
To the university’s leadership, the administration, and everyone else who works in the background, your faith and vision have made this program possible. I will always be appreciative of the chance to lead under your direction because you have established an environment where greatness is not only expected but encouraged in every aspect.
We also want to express our gratitude to the larger Wildcat community for sharing our vision, supporting us through difficulties, and joining us in celebrating each new chapter. You’ve made Manhattan your home, and you’ve aided in my personal and coaching development.
This journey is about people, legacy, and love for something greater than ourselves; it’s not just about football. I will always have a special place in my heart for Kansas State. I am grateful that you have made this phase of my life very remarkable.
With sincere appreciation and pride,
Chris Klieman,
Kansas State Football’s head coach
