Alex Condon, the 6-foot-11 sophomore forward from the University of Florida, has declared for the 2025 NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility. This strategic move allows him to assess his draft prospects and decide whether to remain in the draft or return to Florida for another season.

Condon played a pivotal role in Florida’s national championship-winning season, averaging 10.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. He showcased his versatility with a 49.3% field goal percentage and 32.8% from beyond the arc. In the championship game against Houston, he contributed 12 points, seven rebounds, and four steals, including a crucial dive for a loose ball in the final seconds to secure the victory.

Despite his contributions, Condon’s draft projections vary. ESPN ranks him as the No. 29 prospect, suggesting late first-round potential, while Bleacher Report places him at No. 36, indicating a possible second-round selection. Some analysts believe that another year in college could elevate his draft stock into the lottery range.

Condon has expressed that he would consider staying in the draft if he receives confirmation from NBA teams that he’s projected between picks 15 and 30. Otherwise, he’s inclined to return to Florida, emphasizing his commitment to the program and his desire to further develop his game.

The deadline for underclassmen to withdraw from the draft and retain college eligibility is May 28. Condon’s decision will significantly impact both his professional trajectory and Florida’s prospects for the upcoming season.
