Former New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is nearing a major NFL comeback, with strong signs pointing toward a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although the contract isn’t officially signed, reports confirm Rodgers is seriously considering a one-year, $10 million agreement to join the Steelers ahead of their mandatory minicamp in mid-June.

Rodgers, a four-time MVP and future Hall of Famer, has been dropping subtle hints about his future. During a recent appearance, he made a cryptic comment about a team “playing in Chicago,” which many believe is a nod to the Steelers’ Week 12 game against the Bears. Steelers president Art Rooney II has added fuel to the speculation, saying “all signs are positive” regarding Rodgers joining the team.

This potential move comes after a turbulent stint with the Jets, where Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 1 of the 2023 season. Now 41 years old, Rodgers is determined to prove he still has the ability to compete at a high level and sees Pittsburgh as an ideal destination. The Steelers, who struggled with quarterback consistency last season, are reportedly enthusiastic about adding a veteran leader to guide their young offense.

However, the uncertainty around Rodgers’ decision has sparked criticism. Legendary Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw voiced frustration, urging the team to stop waiting and make a clear move. As a backup plan, the Steelers are reportedly monitoring Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins, although his hefty $37.5 million guaranteed contract poses financial hurdles.

Despite the delays, Pittsburgh remains hopeful. Rodgers’ experience, leadership, and competitive fire could be the spark the Steelers need to make a deep playoff push in 2025. All eyes now turn to mid-June as the NFL world waits to see if Rodgers will wear black and gold next season.
