The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig to their 90-man offseason roster, giving the young pass-catcher a shot to earn a spot on the team heading into the 2025 NFL season.
Lemonious-Craig, who went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, impressed Steelers coaches during rookie minicamp earlier this month. His performance earned him a contract and a chance to compete during Organized Team Activities (OTAs) and training camp. The 6-foot-2, 189-pound wide receiver brings a blend of size, athleticism, and big-play ability to a revamped Pittsburgh receiver room.
Lemonious-Craig began his college career at the University of Colorado, where he played three seasons. He then transferred to the University of Arizona for his final two seasons of eligibility. Across 47 career games, he tallied 79 receptions for 965 yards and nine touchdowns. One of his most memorable moments came during Colorado’s 2023 spring game, when he caught six passes for 169 yards, including a 98-yard touchdown. Remarkably, he entered the transfer portal the very next day, drawing widespread attention.
Now, Lemonious-Craig joins a Steelers wide receiver group that has undergone notable changes this offseason. The team acquired veterans Robert Woods and D.K. Metcalf, reshaping the depth chart. He’ll compete alongside other receivers such as Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Scotty Miller, and Ben Skowronek for a role in the offense.
With Pittsburgh’s preseason set to kick off on August 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Lemonious-Craig will have the opportunity to showcase his skills in game action. While a final roster spot is far from guaranteed, his signing marks a significant milestone in his football journey and a fresh chance to carve out a role in the NFL.
