Lewis Hamilton confirms new Hollywood project after F1 movie with Brad Pitt
Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has confirmed that his growing involvement in Hollywood is far from over. Following his role as co-producer on the highly anticipated Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt, Hamilton revealed that his production company, Dawn Apollo Films, is already developing multiple new projectsโincluding two animated films and a live-action feature.
Speaking to media recently, Hamilton expressed his excitement about the creative process behind these upcoming ventures. โIโve got three concepts that Iโve written, that are in writing,โ he said. โThereโll be at least two of them that will be animations, and one of them weโre already in the first phase of the script. So itโs exciting.โ
Hamiltonโs move into film production began with the yet-to-be-titled F1 movie directed by Top Gun: Maverickโs Joseph Kosinski and produced in collaboration with Apple Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Films. The film stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a retired driver returning to mentor rookie Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris. It was shot at real Grand Prix weekends across an 18-month period to deliver an authentic racing experience. Hamilton played a crucial behind-the-scenes role, reviewing scripts and footage to ensure that the portrayal of the F1 world remained accurate and respectful.
The movie is slated for global release on June 25, 2025, and will debut in U.S. and Canadian theaters on June 27. However, Hamiltonโs aspirations in entertainment clearly go beyond just one film.
While his primary focus remains on storytelling through feature films, Hamilton also hinted at possible future projects in documentaries and television. His production company aims to offer narratives that inspire, entertain, and reflect diverse perspectives. โI love movies. Thatโs what I love the most,โ Hamilton said, emphasizing how passionate he is about this next chapter of his career.
As he prepares for a new driving challenge with Ferrari in the 2025 F1 season, Hamilton is also building a substantial footprint in Hollywood. His evolving career path suggests he is as ambitious off the track as he is on itโstriving not only to win races but also to craft compelling stories for the big screen.
With more projects in development and a blockbuster film on the way, Lewis Hamiltonโs transition into entertainment is picking up speed.
