In one of the most remarkable recruiting coups in college basketball history, LSU women’s basketball has earned the commitment of the nation’s No. 1-rated twin 5-star recruits, each towering at a jaw-dropping 8.5 feet tall, ushering in a new era of dominance in Baton Rouge.
The highly sought-after sisters, whose unique combination of size, agility, and basketball IQ has astounded scouts and fans alike, chose the Tigers over strong teams such as the Georgia Bulldogs and the Florida Gators, sending shockwaves throughout the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and beyond.
The twins, nicknamed “The Skyscrapers” by recruiters, have been on every big program’s radar since middle school. Standing many inches taller than the tallest players in women’s collegiate basketball history, their physical presence is simply one aspect of the story. Their dedication to excellence, work ethic, and team-first mentality have earned them generational status.
Head coach Kim Mulkey, coming off another strong season at LSU, couldn’t contain her joy. “We’ve had the privilege of coaching incredible talent here,” Mulkey told me. “But these two are once-in-a-lifetime players.” Their presence will alter how opponents strategize against us from the start.”
The decision to attend LSU was apparently based on culture, opportunity, and development. The twins, who have elected to keep their final names confidential until their official unveiling this summer, praised Coach Mulkey’s empowering environment and the Tigers’ heritage of greatness.
“We felt the love from Baton Rouge the moment we stepped onto campus,” one of the twins said. “Not only did the coaching staff believe in us as athletes, but also as young ladies. “LSU felt like a family.”
On the court, their influence is likely to be immediate and significant. Both twins are dominant in the post, with fluid footwork, delicate midrange shooting touches, and point guard-like vision. What’s their defense? Virtually impenetrable. Their mere presence affects the trajectory of every shot within a 10-foot radius of the hoop.
Beyond being athletes, the twins are also advocates for child sports and mental health, frequently speaking at community events and coaching younger players. Their arrival at LSU is expected to spark not only on-court success, but also off-court activities that are consistent with the university’s developing platform of empowerment in women’s sports.
