Farrell, known for his tireless work ethic, intense commitment, and on-field brilliance, was clearly moved as he accepted the award, which recognizes not just a remarkable playing career but also a legacy of mentorship, advocacy, and community contribution.
Farrell has spent his whole professional career with the Wigan Warriors, making him a living emblem of team loyalty and consistency. Over the course of more than a decade, he made hundreds of appearances, won several Super League titles and Challenge Cups, and was an important member of England’s international squad. But, beyond the hardware, what drew him to fans and teammates alike was his unwavering character, modesty, and commitment to the sport’s principles.
