BREAKING: Titans Star QB Will Levis Unleashes Career-Best Performance in Preseason Opener — Fans Call Him “The Franchise”

June 29, 2025 — Nashville, TN

The Tennessee Titans may have just witnessed the beginning of a new era.

In their 2025 preseason opener against the Chicago Bears on Friday night, Will Levis — the Titans’ young and promising quarterback — delivered a career-best performance that left fans, analysts, and coaches buzzing with excitement. The 25-year-old signal caller showed a level of poise, accuracy, and leadership that had Nissan Stadium erupting with chants of “Franchise! Franchise!” by the third quarter.

After a rocky rookie season and an inconsistent sophomore campaign, this performance may mark the turning point of Levis’ NFL career — and possibly the beginning of a long-awaited Titans resurgence.

Levis Lights Up the Field

In just under three quarters of play, Levis completed 21 of 26 passes for 267 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions — giving him a near-perfect quarterback rating and the highest single-game passer rating of his young career, preseason or otherwise. More importantly, he looked fully in control of the offense, commanding the huddle with confidence and showing chemistry with key weapons like Treylon Burks, DeAndre Hopkins, and newly acquired tight end Ben Sims.

One of the standout plays of the night came in the second quarter, when Levis rolled out under pressure and delivered a 35-yard laser to Burks in the back of the end zone, threading the needle between two defenders. The throw instantly went viral on social media, with NFL analysts praising the “arm talent” and “Mahomes-like confidence” in the delivery.

Titans Fans Finally See Their Future

Levis’ breakout performance comes at a crucial time for the franchise. Following the retirement of veteran QB Ryan Tannehill and a disappointing 2024 season, questions had swirled around whether Levis had the skill and mentality to lead the team into the next era.

Friday night may have answered that question.

“He looked like a 10-year vet out there, not a third-year guy,” said Titans head coach Brian Callahan, who took over the reins this offseason. “The preparation, the accuracy, the leadership — everything we’ve been working on since OTAs came together tonight.”

Fans were just as enthusiastic. By the time Levis was pulled from the game late in the third quarter, chants of “Franchise QB!” echoed through the stadium. Twitter/X was flooded with posts proclaiming that the Titans have “finally found their guy.”

A Product of Hard Work and Patience

Levis has been candid in interviews about the challenges he’s faced in adjusting to the NFL. After being selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, he entered the league with immense pressure and sky-high expectations.

“I’ve learned a lot since that first year,” Levis said in the postgame press conference. “There were ups and downs, and I had to grow through them. I’ve got a new coaching staff that believes in me, teammates who’ve had my back, and I’m just thankful to be out there, playing free.”

He credited the team’s new offensive coordinator, Alex Van Pelt, with streamlining the offense and building a system around his strengths — including play-action deep balls and quick out-routes, where Levis excelled throughout the game.

Looking Ahead

While it’s only preseason, the tone in Nashville is clear: hope is back.

The Titans are set to face the New York Giants next week, and all eyes will once again be on Levis. If he can maintain this level of performance into the regular season, Tennessee could reemerge as a legitimate AFC playoff contender.

More importantly, the Titans may have finally found what they’ve been searching for since the departure of Steve McNair: a true franchise quarterback.

Time will tell, but one thing is certain after Friday night — Will Levis has officially arrived.
