To My Aggie Family,
As I sit down to reflect on my remarkable journey, which began long before my NFL career, my heart is filled with appreciation. It is impossible to express how much my experience at Texas A&M influenced me, both as a football player and as a man. From the moment I stepped onto campus to the moment I walked off Kyle Field as a proud Aggie for life, this place, family, and community provided me with everything I needed.
I choose to wear maroon and white for more than just school. I was choosing to join a tradition, a legacy of hard work, honor, and excellence that extends beyond sports. The Texas A&M Aggies are a true family – a brotherhood founded on tenacity, honesty, respect, and the unyielding certainty that we will succeed together. And I felt that belief every day, from my first practice, game, and final snap in Aggieland.
You accepted me as one of your own, and for that I shall be eternally grateful. Every time I took the field and heard the shout of the 12th Man, I felt a surge of energy unlike anything else. That atmosphere, that energy, inspired me to give my all in every play, every game, knowing that I was never playing for myself. I was playing for a university that believed in me, players who had my back, and a community that never wavered in its support.

More than the games and awards, it was the people who made my Aggie years so memorable. My teammates — my brothers — showed me what it meant to stick together through the ups and downs. My coaches pushed me to improve, to prioritize discipline and technique, and to strive for greatness in all aspects of my life. My instructors and mentors gave their time and effort to help me flourish academically and personally. Every handshake, every encouraging word, and every heartfelt conversation helped develop me into the person I am today.
As I continue my NFL career, I will carry the spirit of Texas A&M with me. Every sack, tackle, every achievement is a testament to my roots. I’ll never forget the lessons I received at this wonderful institution or how this community influenced my personality.
Thank you, Aggieland, for shaping me into the person I am and aim to be. The relationships we formed will endure indefinitely, as will my gratitude.
Gig ’em and God bless everyone.
With great gratitude,
Myles Garrett –
