An Open Letter from Rose Lavelle. To the United States Women’s National Team, Fans, and the Entire Soccer Community As I think on my time in the beautiful game, my heart is filled with appreciation for the love, support, and encouragement I’ve had throughout the years. This letter is a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been a part of this remarkable adventure.

To my USWNT teammates, you are my family. I will appreciate the experiences we made together, both on and off the pitch, for the rest of my life. Your devotion, enthusiasm, and resilience inspire me every day. Thank you for encouraging me and sharing this journey with me.

To the fans, you are soccer’s heartbeat. Your encouragement, steadfast support, and belief in myself and our team have meant everything to me. Your energy, whether in a packed stadium or via words from afar, has been a driving force in my work. You remind me why I love this sport and what it means to represent our country.

Thank you to the football community for creating an environment in which I could grow and develop. From my early days as a young athlete dreaming big to the present, your advice and encouragement have shaped me into the player and person I am today. This journey has been a dream come true, and it would not have been possible without the unwavering support of so many individuals. Football has given me so much—a platform to inspire, a community to appreciate, and a goal to strive for.

As I move on, I will carry your love and support with me, hoping to make you proud every step of the way. Thank you for everything.

With love and thanks.

Rose Lavelle
