An open letter from quarterback Drew Allar to the Penn State Nittany Lions football, fans, and the entire Nittany Lions community.

Dear Nittany Lions family,

As I sit down to write this letter, I am overwhelmed with appreciation for the love and support I’ve had during my time with the Penn State Nittany Lions. From the moment I came onto campus, I felt I was part of something special—a program rich in history, pride, and tradition. Over the years, the Penn State community has welcomed me, and it is because of their steadfast support that I am able to stand here today as a quarterback for this wonderful football team.

To my teammates, coaches, and staff: you all helped shape me into the player and person I am today. The things I’ve learnt from each of you—both on and off the field—have helped me grow in ways I never expected. Coach Franklin, your leadership and advice have been crucial in teaching me not only the intricacies of the game, but also how to conduct yourself with integrity and respect. My fellow players, you inspire me every day. We have a kinship created by effort, determination, and the quest of perfection.

The trust and camaraderie we’ve created together are what make this squad great, and it inspires me to give my all every time I step on the pitch.

Penn State fans, your support is essential to the program’s success. Whether you’re in Beaver Stadium, watching from your living room, or cheering us on from across the country, you are the driving force behind all we do. Your enthusiasm, energy, and belief in us feed our fire. You make every touchdown, every victory, and every difficulty worth fighting for. I am eternally grateful for your steadfast dedication.

Looking back on my time here, I see how much this program shaped me. The lessons, challenges, and successes have prepared me for whatever comes next. However, none of this would have been possible without the love, support, and excellence that the Penn State community has afforded me. I am extremely happy to wear the Nittany Lions shirt, and I promise to continue giving my all to represent this university and its wonderful tradition.

Thank you for everything. We are Penn State.

Sincerely,
Drew Allar,

Quarterback for Penn State Nittany Lions Football.

Connor McDavid Sends Mobile Medical Unit to Texas Flood Zones — “Healing Means More Than Just Rebuilding Homes” Kerrville, TX — In the wake of Texas’ historic floods, while most relief focuses on food and shelter, a large white truck quietly rolled into a devastated neighborhood this morning. It wasn’t carrying supplies — it was a fully equipped mobile medical clinic, funded personally by Edmonton Oilers legend Alan Jackson through his Still Standing Fund. This unexpected but urgently needed initiative targets rural flood victims with limited access to post-disaster care — from untreated infections to prolonged anxiety and trauma. The clinic offers basic medical treatment and rotating mental health support, a rare combination in mobile relief efforts. “We call it the ‘Healing Station,’” said one volunteer. “Because Connor’s mission isn’t just to rebuild homes — it’s to help people stand back up emotionally.” There was no press conference. No banners bearing Connor’s name. Just quiet care, delivered exactly where it’s needed — true to McDavid belief: “I don’t need them to remember me. I just want them to remember… someone came.” Despite facing his own health battles, Connor McDavid continues to lead with heart — proving once again: Compassion doesn’t need headlines. Just perfect timing… and a purpose……
