QB Tre Ford’s Epochal Open Letter to Edmonton Elks, Fans, and the Entire Elks Community
Dear Edmonton Elks family,
As I sit down to write this letter, my heart is full of love, respect, and deep appreciation for the great journey I’ve had with the Edmonton Elks. This organization, city, and community have been more than simply a location to play football; they have also served as my home, family, and source of inspiration.
From the minute I came in Edmonton, I felt a strong sense of belonging. My colleagues, coaches, and fans’ love and support have changed my career in ways I never believed possible. Every time I stepped onto the field, I felt responsible for wearing the Green and Gold, representing a franchise with a rich history and a devoted fan base. It has been an absolute joy to play for this squad and be welcomed into such an amazing community.
A Brotherhood Like No Other.
Football is more than simply a game; it represents trust, camaraderie, and endurance. To my teammates, you are brothers. We stood together through every success and adversity, encouraging one another to be better every day. The long hours of practice, the struggles on the field, and the moments in the locker room will always have a special place in my heart. You have improved not just my quarterback skills but also my character, and I will be eternally grateful.
Thank you to my coaches for believing in me, challenging me, and helping me develop into the player I am today. Your leadership and direction have been invaluable in my path, and I will always remember the lessons you have taught me—both on and off the field.
Fans are the genuine heartbeat of the Elks team. Your energy, passion, and steadfast support have been the gasoline that keeps us going. Whether it was a freezing night at Commonwealth Stadium or a key road game, you were always there to support us, believe in us, and stand by our side.
As I proceed on my trip, remember that Edmonton will always be my home. I will always remember the teachings, memories, and love that this community has given me. Regardless of where life takes me, I will always be a proud Edmonton Elk.
Thank you for everything, Elks Nation. You have given me memories that will last a lifetime, and I will always treasure the time I spent with this amazing organization.
With love and thanks.
Tre Ford
