Sportsnet has announced a $100 price hike for their Sportsnet+ services, and NHL fans throughout Canada are fed up.
Just a few months ago, Sportsnet spent a staggering $11 billion for a 12-year contract extension on the bulk rights to NHL broadcasts. To recoup their losses, they are boosting ticket prices.
NHL fans are angered by the hefty price hike revealed by Sportsnet
In the age of streaming, many fans use Sportsnet+, a tiered internet service for watching NHL games and other sports.

Sportsnet said today that the price will rise by $75, a staggering one-year increase for a service that fans claim isn’t even decent.

Fans claim that the service is much behind the games in real time, continually delays, frequently drops below HD quality, and still experiences blackouts.
Needless to say, with so many complaints and a significant price hike, supporters were outraged by the announcement and claimed they would terminate their subscriptions.

Sportsnet went into damage control mode, including blocking fans who criticized the price rise.
It’s a stupid site to visit after the long history of problems with their internet service, let alone their TV broadcasts, which can be mind-numbingly bad at times.
Sportsnet’s decision to raise rates so high on one device without making any major changes, especially in times when fans are stretched tight in every aspect, is a shameless cash grab. The reaction is well-deserved, and if they want to improve their image, they must lower the price.

░B░R░E░A░K░I░N░G░ ░N░E░W░S░: Connor McDavid Quietly Deploys “Healing Station” Mobile Clinic to Flood Zones . Connor McDavid Sends Mobile Medical Unit to Texas Flood Zones — “Healing Means More Than Just Rebuilding Homes” Kerrville, TX — In the wake of Texas’ historic floods, while most relief focuses on food and shelter, a large white truck quietly rolled into a devastated neighborhood this morning. It wasn’t carrying supplies — it was a fully equipped mobile medical clinic, funded personally by Edmonton Oilers legend Alan Jackson through his Still Standing Fund. This unexpected but urgently needed initiative targets rural flood victims with limited access to post-disaster care — from untreated infections to prolonged anxiety and trauma. The clinic offers basic medical treatment and rotating mental health support, a rare combination in mobile relief efforts. “We call it the ‘Healing Station,’” said one volunteer. “Because Connor’s mission isn’t just to rebuild homes — it’s to help people stand back up emotionally.” There was no press conference. No banners bearing Connor’s name. Just quiet care, delivered exactly where it’s needed — true to McDavid belief: “I don’t need them to remember me. I just want them to remember… someone came.” Despite facing his own health battles, Connor McDavid continues to lead with heart — proving once again: Compassion doesn’t need headlines. Just perfect timing… and a purpose……
