As of February 2025, Roger Hodgson, Supertramp’s former frontman and co-founder, is in good health. In November 2022, he addressed rumours concerning his health, saying, “Thank you for your ongoing support. For those who have enquired, my health is fine.
In 2024, Hodgson was involved in a legal battle with former Supertramp teammates Dougie Thomson, John Helliwell, and Bob Siebenberg for songwriting payments. The trio claimed a part of Hodgson’s royalties under a 1977 agreement. However, a federal jury decided in Hodgson’s favour, concluding that the arrangement did not require him to continue sharing income indefinitely.
In terms of musical endeavours, Hodgson began on his “Breakfast in America” world tour in 2018, commemorating the 40th anniversary of Supertramp’s legendary record. The tour got excellent feedback, with Rolling Stone emphasising its success. Franck Riester, the French Minister of Culture, presented him with the Order of Arts and Letters at a concert at the Olympia in Paris in June 2019.
While Hodgson’s public appearances have been reduced in recent years, there has been no bad news about his health or profession. Fans continue to honour his contributions to music, and tribute bands, such as “Breakfast in America,” perform Supertramp songs, preserving the band’s legacy.
