Dear Nebraska Cornhuskers, Fans, and the Entire Husker Community:
As I sit down to write this letter, I am overwhelmed with appreciation for the tremendous ride I’ve had as an athlete and a proud ambassador of this great state and its beloved program. From the first time I picked up a softball to the times I’ve taken the mound with “Nebraska” across my breast, I’ve been surrounded by a support system so strong, sincere, and steadfast that words will never adequately express how much it means to me — but I’ll try.
Coming home to Nebraska was more than just a career move. It was a return to my roots, to the principles that shaped me, and to a community that believed in me long before the media did. It was a decision motivated by love, family, and a desire to be a part of something larger than myself. And you—the fans, coaches, teammates, alumni, and supporters—welcomed me back with open arms, intense pride, and unrivalled loyalty.
Thank you to Coach Revelle and the entire coaching staff for putting their trust in me. Thank you for pushing me, empowering me, and giving me the opportunity to compete and lead with both fire and elegance. You provided an environment in which I could develop not only as a pitcher, but also as a teammate, student, and individual. Your faith in me has meant more than you would ever realize.
To all of my teammates, past and present, I love you like family. You’ve been my trench sisters, pushing me to do my best and encouraging me when I fall short. We have laughed, grieved, won, and grown together. Those shared moments—the dugout chants, the lengthy road trips, the late-night workouts—will be with me for the rest of my life.
To the great Husker fans: you are the driving force behind all we do. Your energy has carried us through the toughest innings and celebrated with us in the best moments. I still get thrills when I see young girls in the stands wearing my jersey or yelling my name. You have inspired me as much as I have inspired you. Thank you for making me feel visible, supported, and applauded during every game.
Nebraska, you are more than a place; you are a people. You are the source of my strength, pride, and identity. You’ve allowed me to dream big, compete fiercely, and grow freely. You have given me a home.
As my trip progresses, keep in mind that the “N” will always be with me. Every pitch, challenge, and milestone is based on the love and loyalty that define the Cornhusker spirit. Thank you for investing in me, and I hope I’ve reciprocated.
