“From Grit to Glory – Thank You for Believing in Me”
To the entire Florida Panthers organization, devoted fans, and the great Panthers community—
I’ve been in this game for a long time. I’ve felt the heat of rivalries, the sting of setbacks, and the burden of expectations. But I’ve also tasted the ecstasy of triumph, and nothing beats what we just accomplished together. Stanley Cup Champions—those words still feel unreal. But they are. We accomplished it together.
As I write this, I can’t help but think about what this trip has meant—not just this season, but since I joined this squad. Leaving Boston was never easy. That city was my home for many years. But being a Florida Panther meant more than just changing sweaters; I also gained a new family. You welcomed me with open arms, even if I came with a reputation. You didn’t just see the player; I believe you saw the person.
Thank you, Panthers front office, coaching staff, and teammates, for believing in me, pushing me, and allowing me to lead in my own unique way. You believed I could help bring something special to this locker room, and I was determined to give it my all—on and off the ice. We built more than just systems and line combinations. It was about culture, responsibility, and heart.
To our steadfast supporters, you’ve been the driving force behind this journey. From Sunrise to every region of Florida, and even those watching from around the world, you roared with us. You filled the Amerant Bank Arena with enthusiasm, making it impossible not to believe. Whether it was a midseason grind or a Game 7 showdown, you made us believe we were competing for something bigger than ourselves. We sensed your pride, passion, and hope.
I’d like to talk specifically to young Panthers fans. I see you. I’ve noticed the posters, the painted faces, and the dreams in your eyes. Never stop believing. Never give up on your goals, whether on or off the rink. What about this cup? It’s yours too. This triumph is for all of the times you stayed up beyond your bedtime to watch us play, wore your jersey to school, and believed—even when the odds were stacked against us.
Thank you to the entire Florida Panthers community for establishing an environment in which I could grow—not just as a player, but as a person. In many respects, this has been the most humbling and fulfilling part of my career. You offered me the opportunity to help shape something larger than myself. You gave me meaning when I needed it the most.
And now, as we hold the Cup high above our heads, remember that it is more than just a trophy. It is a symbol of resilience, unity, and what happens when a community refuses to give up.
With all my heart, thank you, Florida.
