Dear Houston Rockets family,
As I reflect on my trip so far in this great game, I am overwhelmed with appreciation—a thankfulness that words cannot express. From the minute I went into the Toyota Center as a wide-eyed rookie until the present, every moment, challenge, and win has been part of a far bigger story than basketball. And none of it would have been possible without you—the city of Houston, the Rockets organization, my teammates, and our ardent supporters.
To my teammates: y’all are more than just teammates—you’re brothers. Through long practices, late flights, tough losses, and unforgettable wins, we’ve built a bond that goes beyond the court. You’ve challenged me, supported me, and pushed me to be the best version of myself. Every bucket, every defensive stop, every moment of grind—we did it together. And that unity, that drive, is something I’ll always carry with me.
To my teammates: you’re not just teammates; you’re brothers. We’ve formed an unbreakable friendship over the course of long sessions, late flights, difficult losses, and unforgettable victories. You’ve challenged, supported, and pushed me to be my best self. We did every bucket, defensive stop, every grind together. And that oneness, that drive, will always be with me.
To the fans, the heart and soul of H-Town: man, you are unique. The affection you’ve shown me since day one has been nothing short of miraculous. Whether it was during my highs or when I was facing difficulty, your voices encouraged me. Your faith in me, this team, and the future we’re creating here is what makes playing in Houston so unique. I hear you in the fans, see your signs, jerseys, and energy—and it motivates me every game.
To the entire city of Houston, thank you for welcoming me not only as a basketball player, but as a member of your community. The culture, perseverance, and pride that exists in this city are contagious. It motivates me. You’ve influenced my identity both on and off the court. You’ve taught me what it is to symbolize something greater than myself.
I’ve matured not only as a player, but also as a man, thanks to the foundation you’ve laid. The path ahead is lengthy, and I know I have more to prove, offer, and accomplish. But I stand on a firm foundation of love, support, and belief. And I guarantee you, I’m only getting started.
