Verstappen’s £12 Million ‘Unleash the Lion’ Super Yacht Turns Heads at Monaco Grand Prix

Formula 1 superstar Max Verstappen

has once again stolen the spotlight—this time not on the track, but in the waters of Monte Carlo.

During the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix weekend, the reigning world champion’s brand-new super yacht, Unleash the Lion, made its grand debut, drawing admiration and envy in equal measure.

The 33-meter Mangusta GranSport 33, worth £12 million, serves as a floating representation of Verstappen’s elite status in motorsport.

The boat has five luxurious guest suites, three crew cabins, a spacious sundeck, and a built-in beach club with direct access to the water—ideal for those Monte Carlo vistas. It’s more than just a vessel; it’s a high-performance luxury experience, similar to Verstappen’s driving style.

Unleash the Lion was delivered early this year by the Overmarine Group in Viareggio, Italy. It was commissioned in 2023 and covertly debuted before of this year’s Formula One season.

The name alludes to Verstappen’s fierce racing character and his iconic number 33. The reveal apparently took place in a private event attended by intimate friends, family, and Kelly Piquet, his partner.

Although Verstappen did not place on the podium in Monaco this year, the yacht’s appearance more than made up for the absence of on-track fireworks.

Moored in the famous Monte Carlo harbour, the vessel became a talking point among F1 insiders, spectators, and yacht aficionados alike.

The timing of the reveal could not have been more appropriate. Monaco, long known for combining speed and luxury, was a great setting for Verstappen’s display of marine flair.

Verstappen’s latest buy has firmly placed him at the intersection of motorsport prowess and lifestyle distinction, with paparazzi lenses focused almost as much on the yacht as on the cars on the track.

Unleash the Lion is more than simply a yacht; it’s a message. And, like Verstappen on the circuit, it draws attention wherever it goes.
