Breaking: Cameron and Cayden Boozer, known as the “Boozer Twins,” shock the nation by committing to the Michigan Wolverines after decommitting from the Duke Blue Devils. Against the LSU Tigers and Alabama: “We intend to overwhelm Michigan.”
The most sought-after sibling team in the country, Cameron and Cayden Boozer, have formally decommitted from the Duke Blue Devils and committed to the Michigan Wolverines, in a dramatic change that has completely changed the college basketball recruiting scene. The sons of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer are poised to usher in a new era of Wolverines basketball by selecting Michigan over fellow finalists Alabama and LSU.
At a news conference at their Miami, Florida, high school, hundreds of people watched as the twins, wearing blue and maize suits, unveiled Michigan caps to a roar of cheers.
Cameron Boozer, the top-ranked player in the Class of 2025, stated, “This decision was about our future, our identity, and where we felt most supported to grow — as players and as men.” And everything about Michigan seemed perfect. We’re going there for more than simply a game. We intend to take it by storm when we get there.
Cayden Boozer remarked, “Coach May believed in us — not just as top recruits, but as people.” He discussed legacy, ideals, and creating something greater than a single season. That stayed with us.
This commitment puts the Wolverines squarely back in the national spotlight and is the most well-known recruiting success in Michigan basketball history. With a long history and a track record of producing NBA players, the program now appears ready to contend for national championships in the years to come.
Coach Dusty May made the following statement soon after the commitment:
Cameron is a 6’9″ power forward who has been praised as a once-in-a-generation prospect due to his unusual high school mix of size, skill, quickness, and basketball IQ. Cayden, his twin brother, is a 6’3″ explosive athlete who combines remarkable vision, quickness, and leadership, making him one of the country’s most sought-after point guards.
Long expected to follow in their father’s footsteps and attend Duke, the Boozer twins shocked the basketball community early this year by resuming their recruitment efforts. As top teams hurried to make their case, Michigan, led by head coach Dusty May, emerged as the surprising front-runner.
This is a time that will change the program. In addition to being exceptional athletes, Cameron and Cayden are also admirable young men who aspire to succeed and make a positive impact. Michigan basketball just made tremendous progress.
Within minutes of the announcement, social media was in full swing. NBA players, fans, and former Wolverines celebrated the pair’s audacious decision and welcomed them to Ann Arbour on social media sites like X (previously Twitter) and Instagram.
Cameron gave one final statement as the twins concluded the press conference:
“We see you, we feel your love, and we’re prepared, Wolverine Nation. Let’s create history.
The blue and maize faithful can now formally start having huge dreams. College basketball might never be the same when the Boozer brothers move to Michigan.
