REINHART SCORES 4, PANTHERS TOP OILERS IN GAME 6 TO REPEAT AS STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS
In a night that will go down in NHL history, Sam Reinhart delivered a legendary performance, scoring four goals as the Florida Panthers defeated the Edmonton Oilers 6-3 in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, clinching their second consecutive championship title.
Held at Rogers Place in Edmonton, the game was electric from the opening faceoff. With the Oilers looking to force a Game 7 and the Panthers determined to end the series, tension was high. But it was Reinhart who stole the spotlight early and never let it go. Just five minutes into the first period, Reinhart opened the scoring with a wrist shot off a feed from Matthew Tkachuk. Before the period ended, he added another goal on a power play, giving Florida a 2-0 lead.
Though Connor McDavid and the Oilers fought back in the second period—netting goals from Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard—Reinhart continued his onslaught. He completed his hat trick midway through the second with a shorthanded breakaway goal, silencing the home crowd. By the third period, Reinhart tallied his fourth, a one-timer that ricocheted off the post and in, making him only the third player in NHL history to score four goals in a Stanley Cup-clinching game.
Sergei Bobrovsky made 34 saves in net, holding firm against a late Edmonton push. Aleksander Barkov and Carter Verhaeghe also contributed assists as the Panthers maintained control throughout.
For Florida, this marks their second Stanley Cup in franchise history—both coming in back-to-back seasons. Head Coach Paul Maurice praised Reinhart’s heroics, calling it “one of the greatest individual performances in a Stanley Cup Final.”
The Oilers, despite a strong playoff run led by McDavid, once again fell short of hoisting the Cup. As the Panthers celebrated on the ice, it was clear: a new NHL dynasty may be forming in Sunrise, Florida.
