After the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 117–110 victory over the Golden State Warriors in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals, Anthony Edwards shared a heartfelt message with Steph Curry, who was sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Edwards credited Curry for influencing his improved three-point shooting, stating:
> “Let it fly. I told Steph I was working with him all summer. Big shoutout, big credit to him. He influenced me to be able to shoot the ball really well, so I went back in the summer and started working on it once I left him, and I got better at it.”
During the game, Edwards showcased this development by scoring 30 points, including six three-pointers on 11 attempts. He also recounted a lighthearted exchange with Curry on the sidelines:
> “Just from working out with him in the summer, that’s what I told him after I hit a [3]. Because he told me, I had missed one. [Curry] was like, ‘You wasn’t going to make that. You was too open.’ I was like, ‘I ain’t never going to stop shooting them. I learned that from you this summer.'”
Edwards and Curry had trained together during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where they both represented Team USA. The mentorship from Curry appears to have had a significant impact on Edwards’ performance, as evidenced by his shooting prowess in Game 4.
With this win, the Timberwolves lead the series 3–1 and have the opportunity to clinch a spot in the Western Conference Finals in Game 5.
