Unforgettable Family Getaway: 4 Magical Nights at Europa Park’s Kronasar Hotel with Thrills, Relaxation & Delicious Food

When planning the ultimate family vacation, few destinations check all the boxes quite like Europa Park in Rust, Germany. From thrilling roller coasters to enchanting themed lands, luxurious accommodations to mouth-watering cuisine, Europa Park offers something for every member of the family. Our recent four-night stay at the stunning Hotel Kronasar was nothing short of magical — a seamless blend of adventure, relaxation, and indulgence that left us with memories to last a lifetime.

Day 1: Arrival and First Impressions

The moment we arrived at Hotel Kronasar – The Museum Hotel, we were immediately struck by its majestic architecture. Styled as a natural history museum with Nordic touches, the hotel blends fantasy and sophistication in perfect harmony. The lobby, adorned with artifacts and exhibits, instantly captivated the kids, while the elegant interior design and warm hospitality made us feel welcome and pampered.

Check-in was smooth and friendly, and the staff made sure our family suite was ready and comfortable. The room itself was spacious, tastefully decorated, and cleverly designed to accommodate families, with separate sleeping areas for kids and adults. After settling in, we took a leisurely stroll around the hotel grounds and soaked in the serene ambiance by the lake.

Dinner was at the hotel’s Restaurant Bubba Svens, a delightful culinary voyage with influences from Scandinavia and international favorites. From fresh seafood to hearty meat dishes and vegetarian options, there was something for everyone — even our picky eater was impressed!

Day 2: Thrills and Adventures at Europa Park

After a delicious buffet breakfast (with everything from German breads and cheeses to American-style pancakes and eggs), we were ready to dive into the main attraction: Europa Park. Thanks to direct access from Hotel Kronasar via the water-themed Rulantica area, we were at the park gates within minutes.

Europa Park is divided into different European-themed zones, and it was incredible how immersive each area felt. Our first stop was France, home to the high-speed roller coaster Silver Star, which provided adrenaline-pumping fun for the older kids and adults. For younger ones, attractions like Arthur – The Ride and the Alpenexpress in Austria offered thrills without the fear factor.

One highlight was the Pirates in Batavia ride, which combined water-based excitement with stunning visual storytelling — a hit with the entire family. Food options inside the park were plentiful and surprisingly good. We had lunch in Italy with freshly made pizzas and gelato, and snacks from Switzerland later in the day kept us energized.

After a long but exciting day, we returned to Kronasar for a casual evening by the lake and some well-deserved rest.

Day 3: Water Wonderland at Rulantica

Europa Park’s water world, Rulantica, was our plan for day three — and it did not disappoint. The indoor waterpark, connected directly to the hotel, is a massive Nordic-themed paradise with slides, pools, lazy rivers, and more. We spent hours splashing around, with highlights including the wave pool, the Vinter Rytt slide, and the relaxing Skog Lagune thermal pool.

For lunch, we grabbed quick bites at Lumålunda, the in-park restaurant, and continued exploring. There’s even a dedicated area for younger children called Troll Valley, making it perfect for families of all ages.

After drying off, we booked a session at the Hyggedal spa located above Rulantica. While the kids relaxed in the room with a movie, we enjoyed peaceful moments in the saunas and lounge areas — a rare treat for parents on a family trip!

Dinner that night was back at Bubba Svens, and this time we tried the tasting menu. Each course was more impressive than the last, with impeccable service and creative presentation.

Day 4: More Park Magic and Relaxation

We spent our fourth day revisiting our favorite attractions in Europa Park. From the enchanted Grimm’s Fairy Tale Forest to the high-octane Blue Fire Megacoaster in Iceland, there was never a dull moment. We also explored new corners we’d missed, like the delightful Ireland Children’s World and the immersive Scandinavia section.

Back at the hotel, we made time for a family board game in the lounge and a scenic walk along the lake. Dinner on our final night was at Tre Krønen, the hotel’s fine-dining restaurant. The elegant setting and sophisticated menu made it the perfect farewell dinner. The kids even received a surprise dessert shaped like a Viking ship!

Final Thoughts: A Magical Family Escape

Our four nights at Hotel Kronasar and the Europa Park resort were unforgettable. The attention to detail, family-focused experiences, and high-quality service made it one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. The combination of thrilling rides, relaxing spa moments, playful water adventures, and gourmet food made for a perfectly balanced holiday.

What sets this trip apart is how Europa Park manages to cater to every family member — from toddlers to teens, and from adventurous parents to those who prefer a glass of wine by the lake. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or simply in search of quality time together, this destination delivers on every front.

We left with tired feet, full hearts, and promises to return. If you’re looking for a magical family getaway that blends excitement with elegance, Europa Park and Hotel Kronasar should be at the top of your list.
