An Open Letter to PDC, Fans and the Darts Community – Fallon Sherrock
To the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), my wonderful supporters, teammates and supporters worldwide,
I look back on my journey through the world of darts, and I am so grateful to the people, groups and advocates that have supported me through every step of this amazing experience. The love, support and opportunities I have had throughout my career and life from the early days of chasing a goal to competing on some of the biggest platforms in the sport have had a huge impact on me.
“I would like to thank the PDC for giving players like myself the opportunity to play, develop and inspire generations to come.” I’ve been fortunate to have had opportunities over the years that have helped my career and visibility of women in darts. You have inspired so many other players with your dedication to growing the game globally and created some moments which will go down in darts history forever.
I would like to thank all my teammates and the people behind the scenes for the constant support, professionalism and respect they have shown me throughout my career. It’s the camaraderie between competitors that know what it takes to compete at the top level, the sacrifices, the commitment, the passion that makes the darts community special.
I will never be able to adequately thank all of my fans for their support. Your belief gave me unimaginable confidence and strength, whether I was cheering from venues, watching from home, or sending encouraging letters during trying times. Every standing ovation, chant, and encouraging comment served as a reminder that sports have the ability to bring people from all backgrounds together.
The road hasn’t always been easy. Times of stress, criticism, obstacles and failures tested my resilience. But the darts community kept me going, kept me believing in myself and kept me going through every tough episode. We worked together to show that obstacles can be overcome and that sporting opportunities must continue to grow for future generations.
