To Texas Tech University, the devoted supporters, and the whole Red Raiders community,
I am writing this letter today to express my sincere gratitude, pride, and admiration for a community that has welcomed and helped me during one of the most significant periods of my coaching career. The people that support the program with unshakable enthusiasm and belief are what make this journey truly memorable, even though football has given me chances beyond my wildest dreams.
Thank you to Texas Tech University for entrusting me with the privilege and duty of overseeing this illustrious football team. I take great delight in representing the Red Raiders every single day. As a coach and a leader, I am still motivated by the tenacity, hard effort, toughness, and solidarity that this university upholds. I have always been supported by everyone, from the sports department to the administration, and this support has made it possible for me to grow and succeed.
Fans, you are the lifeblood of Texas Tech football. Words cannot adequately describe the enthusiasm you bring to every game, the devotion you exhibit throughout every season, and the faith you continue to have in this program. Your support never wanes, whether in times of triumph or hardship. Hearing your voices reverberate throughout the stadium and witnessing the stands brimming with Red Raider patriotism serve as a continual reminder of the amazing community we represent.
Thank you to the whole Red Raiders family—alumni, students, families, teachers, and supporters nationwide—for fostering a culture based on solidarity and conviction. In college football, players and coaches are never the only ones that create success. It requires a whole community united by a common passion and dedication. Not only have our players been able to develop in this setting, but I have also been able to continue growing both personally and professionally.
I would especially like to express my gratitude to the players that dedicate themselves to this program every day and have faith in our mission. One of the best things about coaching is seeing young guys develop into leaders on and off the field. As we work together to create something extraordinary, their self-control, selflessness, and commitment inspire us all.
Football imparts lessons about tenacity, responsibility, and conquering obstacles. There are challenges in every season, but what distinguishes great communities is their capacity to stick together in trying times. My conviction that Texas Tech has an exceptionally bright future has been reinforced by the love and support this community continues to provide.
I pledge that our dedication to toughness, discipline, and greatness will continue to be at the core of all we do as we proceed on this path. Every day, we strive to create a program that will make this community and institution proud for many years to come.
